By far one of the best X-Rated thrillers I have seen recently, this 1977 shocker may still be even better if it turns out that my VCA video version is cut. Annette Haven has always been known for her good taste in films, and she shows herself to be a real thespian through her performance in this Martin Martin psycho-sexual thriller.
Is she a victim, or a villain? That is the question that will be sure to haunt you after watching this film. Surrounded by such other greats as John Leslie and Constance Money, Haven puts out one of the performances of her career (as do her co-stars by the way).
This is also a very smart film, full of clever hints, all pointing to the honestly surprising conclusion. Also director Martin does a magnificent job in providing the audience with loads of Hitchcockien suspense that really does keep you guessing until the very end. Although Money's performance could have been better, she, like the rest of the cast turns in fine acting performances.
Since this film is out of print(VCA owner Larry Flint has made a pledge to make all of his quality classic films unavailable for viewing by putting them out of print), if you are lucky and happen to have a local video shop that specializes in rare, hard to find erotic movies, among other things, and happens to carry this title(,be sure to pick up this little number, you will not be disappointed.
As of December 17 2005, P.S. I now own the uncut version and it completely changes the ending! Still good though, in fact, even better.
